Lord Byng Elementary School is a truly welcoming community that promotes an inclusive and friendly learning environment. We believe that all children will learn and thrive in a place where they belong and feel valued. We are connected to the history of Steveston and feel lucky to be an integral part of the community. Our school has been in Steveston on this site for over 100 years. There have been different school buildings, as you can see in our photo gallery, but the core value of providing education to the residents of Steveston village has remained. We have a rich heritage of past students and educators who have been a part of Byng's history. As a learning community, we strive to remain connected to our history and our place while helping our students learn for their future.

Lord Byng students are supported in their learning by both caring, committed staff and supportive, connected families. We believe that the partnership between school and home is vital to student learning. We are fortunate to have an active Parent Advisory Council involved in the fabric of our school.
