Everyday Speech and Core Competencies
Thirteen teachers, including classroom teachers and resource teachers, participated in the Everyday Speech (EDS) pilot project in which they were granted 10-week free access to this comprehensive online platform on social-emotional learning. The purpose of this pilot project was to build common practices and language in our classrooms when it came to social emotional learning. We also wanted to connect the EDS lessons to core competencies by providing examples and vocabulary for students to use. At the 8th week, a mid-point survey was conducted and below is the feedback from the teachers. The group has expressed the interest to extend the pilot project into the new year.
