In September we conducted a reading assessment (the DART) with the entire student body.  We now have information about where we need to target reading support and where things are going along just as they should be with reading proficiency.

Right now we have a group of students that are Developing in their reading skills.  Through working with the Literacy Consultant and Pro D,  we are focusing on strategies that will help children build their literacy skills and continue to instill a joy for reading.  In the Spring, we will conduct this reading assessment again to see how our intentional teaching practices have helped move more children towards Proficiency in the area of Literacy.  This will also help us decide on goals for moving forward in Literacy for the fall of 2023.
