Building connections for students in order to feel safe and cared for, is very important for Byng Staff.  We have the understanding that children learn deeply with meaning if they feel good about where they are and the people that surround them.  So that we have some baseline data, in November we have been asking students about their adult connections in the school, how their learning is going, and what they are learning about with Big Ideas and Competencies.  And we will ask the same questions in the Spring to see if there has been growth in adult connections and students talking more in depth about their learning.
