For Book Club first term, a group of teachers read Teachers These Days by Jody Carrington.  This was a great reminder for us to remember that relationships with students are key.  We often don't know what goes on in kids' lives and sometimes they need a little extra care and attention to get through the day.  Knowing our students well helps us to meet them where they are each day emotionally and academically.  The regular routine of connecting each morning at the door was a key idea that we were all able to commit to doing each day.  A great read for educators and parents.
