Lining up outside our doors each morning in order to individually welcome each child enables us to connect directly each day with our students.  We can say hello! and check in on how things are going.  Sometimes children tell us specific details on what is going on in their lives such as a hockey tournament or a piano recital.  A few days later we can ask about how that event went.  Making an intentional connection with students helps us all feel more connected to our Byng community. In conversations with the staff, they have felt that having these intentional moments with their students has given them more opportunities to make connections. In late October, we will ask students to identify adults that they feel connected to in the school and what makes that connection strong.
