School Focus 2025-2026
| School Learning Focus for the 2025/2026 school year | As a school we will continue to focus on building our computational fluency skills and strengthening understanding of key math vocabulary. We will also delve deeper into looking at the engagement and confidence of our students while working with numeracy concepts. |
| Evidence-Informed Rationale (WHY) | Through completing a school-wide numeracy assessment, staff noticed that students were having difficulty sharing their thinking in a variety of ways. Completing our “Math Moji” student self-assessment demonstrated to us that there was still room for growth in confidence and engagement, particularly in our intermediate grades. |
| Priority Learners | Our priority learners include intermediate students for engagement and confidence, as well as our learners who were emerging on our school-wide numeracy assessment. |
| Baseline Data | Through the information we received completing the “Math Moji” student self-assessment, the data showed us that intermediate student’s confidence around their abilities was not as high as the primary students. It also indicated that the engagement of our intermediate students was not as high as the primary students. Through the data we collected on our computational fluency assessment,7% of our students were still emerging, making this a continued goal. |
| Action Statement (HOW) |
|
| Intended Impact (SO WHAT) | We expect to see continued improvement around our learner’s confidence and engagement in numeracy activities. By the end of June 2026, we would like to see less than 5% of students emerging on our year-end computational fluency assessment. |
| Evidence of Impact (HOW WE WILL KNOW) |
|
Alignment Statement | School learning goal is in alignment with strategic priority “Success for all learners”. We are striving to improve numeracy outcomes for all learners.
