We continued working with our Literacy Consultant planning in reading instruction and strategies until about the beginning of May and we did see some growth with our emerging readers, however we'd like to continue working on this for next year as it is such a foundational important skill.

We noticed in the middle of May a few of our Kindergarten learners were struggling with knowing their aural sounds so the team did some intentional planning for these students. With this targeted support, all of these students did move forward in learning more of their aural sounds, some actually now able to complete the entire assessment to the end which is great news!  This information helps us plan for instruction quite quickly in September so that we are ready to go right away to support our learners.
