After completing our fall assessments of students' reading proficiency, we have noticed a few of our students in each grade are emerging in their skills.    For our pro d day on Jan. 30th, 2023, we are bringing in our Literacy Learning Consultant to support us in planning for next steps specifically in reading.  What do we do in our teaching to help our emerging readers become more proficient?  Using the Pillars of Literacy and collaborative planning,  we will plan for instruction in supporting our students in moving forward in their reading skills.  In May, we will complete another reading assessment to see if there has been movement towards developing and/or proficiency for our now emerging readers.
